Dusk ‘Til Dawn Jamaica
Dusk ’til Dawn
From “Dusk ‘Til Dawn” is a Jamaican Dancehall cultural exhibition, held annually in Atlanta, Georgia. It is the first of its kind, and the future of social events. Dusk ‘Til Dawn was introduced to Georgia by a group of Caribbean party goers that traveled each year in groups to places like Jamaica, New York & Miami for similar events. The first staging of Dusk ‘Til Dawn took place on March 1st, 2008 at the Atrium Event Center. It featured Dancehall legends Super Cat, Junior Reid, and a host of other acts. It brought out over 3000 people, and added an extra spice to Atlanta’s already culturally-rich performing arts scene.
The first event was deemed a success but came to a pre-mature ending when the Fire Marshall intervened because the venue reached its capacity. The event has seen continuous growth over the years featuring some of Dancehall’s biggest and most current performers. In 2013 and 2014 tickets to the event which was headlined by Dancehall artist Mavado were sold out in advance, and patrons without tickets had to be turned away at the venue door.
Dusk ‘Til dawn is a highly sophisticated event, catering to a strictly mature clientele, with an emphasis on celebrating good music, food, sexuality, friendship and chance encounters. As the name depicts the event begins at the setting of the sun and ends at the rising of the sun. The night starts out at about 6:00 PM with a six hour showcase of culturally diverse music such as: Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, Salsa, Meringue and R&B. Disc Jockey’s from all genres of music are invited to perform. As the night continues it transitions into Roots, Rock, Reggae and eventually ends with a hardcore Dancehall party session, and stage show.
Dusk ‘Til Dawn also features representation from well-respected brands, products, and media outlets. Vendors offers a wide variety of gifts, crafts, souvenirs and memorabilia.
Dusk ’til Dawn successfully attracts thousands of people from across the globe. Dusk ‘til dawn provides a social setting where people get together for adult fun; expressing poise, and sex appeal, while enjoying exotic Caribbean foods and music.
